Volunteers and Interns

Volunteers and Interns are always welcome! If you want to offer a class, or if you have an interest you want to share with teenagers, or even if you just want to come see what the freeschool experience is all about, please call us.

Our very first full-time intern, thanks to the Worcester Dynamy program and her own experience as an unschooler, is Breetel Rebecca Shy. A student of the Dynamy Internship Year Program, Breetel just finished her first internship at Health Awareness Services and has begun her second here at Balance Rock Center. She considers herself an unschooler for life, and is passionate about alternative methods of learning and teaching. Breetel spends her free time knitting, reading, journaling, drawing, and exploring Worcester. This fall she will attend Clark University and attempt to turn her love of education into a career.
